Autodesk Account: assigning and unassigning users by product

Assign users to products:

Primary and secondary Autodesk Account admins can allocate access to products and services by product, as opposed to allocating them by user. When adding a new user, that user will receive a notification of confirmation explaining how to create an account and download their software.

Note: It is possible to reassign and unassign users as often as required.

Note: Users on your team are assigned a pool of licenses that are associated with that team, at no time is a specific contract or license associated with an individual user. Purchase additional licenses or remove inactive users from your team when a subscription expires.

Adding and assigning users by product:

  1. Sign into your Autodesk Account at manage.autodesk.com. In the left navigation menu click User Management > By Product. User Management will only appear if you are a primary or secondary admin.
  2. Select a product to view the details.
  3. Select Assign users.
  4. Enter the user’s email address and:
  • Select Assign to assign all product items, or
  • Select Customise to select items individually.

Note: The invitation will need to be resent if the user does not accept within seven days.

Importing users to a product in bulk:

  1. Create a CSV file listing the users that need to be imported and assigned. Make sure:
  • Each user populates one single row.
  • There are three columns for First name, Last name and Email next to the user’s name.

Note: If a user already exists in Autodesk Account, they will not be added again.

  1. In your Autodesk Account, navigate to the left menu and click User Management > By Product.
  2. Select a team and a product to view the details.
  3. Select Assign Users.
  4. If you would like to customise the selection and not assign all included items, select
  5. Click the Import to assign tab and select Upload CSV file.

Note: A notification will display when the import is complete, and you can continue working while the file is uploading.

Note: If a user does not accept within seven days you will need to resend the invitation.

Unassigning users by product:

  1. Sign into your Autodesk Account at manage.autodesk.com. In the left navigation menu click User Management > By Product. User Management will only appear if you are a primary or secondary admin.
  2. Click on a product to display the assigned users.
  3. Select Unassign next to the user to be removed.
