What’s new in Inventor 2025
This year marks the 25th anniversary of Autodesk Inventor! To celebrate this milestone, the 2025 release brings over a whopping 140 enhancements plus 1330 bug fixes, to improve user experience, enhance functionality, and streamline your design process.
Here are some of the most popular enhancements:
Sheet Metal Environment
The sheet metal environment has now been modernised, making the process more intuitive. There's a new interface with everything now located in one panel, logically placing tools to make features readily accessible. This allows for quick and easy workflows to improve your tasks. A standout feature is the enhanced capability for direct manipulation and visualisation of flanges. This allows designers to make on the fly adjustments with ease, viewing changes in real time and using common presets to streamline the design process. This level of interactivity and control provides a more dynamic and responsive interface.
Drawing Annotations
You can now insert item numbers into drawing text for dynamic updates linked to the parts list, balloons, and notes, ensuring consistent and accurate documentation. The new 'Parts List Properties' in the format text dialogue lets you reference values directly from the parts list when annotating drawings.
Revit Interoperability Enhancements
Now, in Inventor 2025 you can export to earlier versions of Revit as far back as 2023, such as here in the simplify command, or when exporting your building products.
You can launch a specific version of install directly from the dialogue within Inventor.
This release allows you to seamlessly import ifc files from Revit using AnyCAD technology, ensuring all the associated metadata is brought into Inventor without any loss – offering a more logical workflow across architecture and engineering disciplines.
iLogic Enhancements
Autodesk Inventor 2025 introduces a new event trigger in the iLogic functionality, allowing you to execute rules before you check in to Vault. Users now can inspect their rules for malicious code and access new snippets to facilitate working with Model States.
Graphics Improvements
There have been a number of graphics improvements in this year’s release, including an add-in support tool to monitor your performance, better selection priority when it comes to graphics options, and a tool to visibly show parts in different colours.
The new features of Autodesk Inventor 2025 significantly enhance design workflows and documentation – offering greater control, efficiency, and clarity in complex projects to meet the evolving needs of its users.
