FAQ: The new Autodesk transaction model
Autodesk has recently informed New Zealand customers of a new payment model coming into effect from 4 March 2024. As your Autodesk Authorised Solutions Provider, we wanted to clarify this change and confirm that Cadpro will continue to support you with all your Autodesk requirements.
Frequently asked questions
Rest assured, Autodesk is not moving to a direct model and bypassing partners like Cadpro. The only change is to the payment process for your Autodesk software – you will now make payment directly to Autodesk, rather than to Cadpro.
The new transaction model is implemented on 4 March 2024.
Autodesk products will now be quoted and paid for separately to all other Cadpro-delivered products and services. In the past, Cadpro would provide one combined proposal for all your requirements. From 4 March, we will provide two proposals: one solely for Autodesk software, and another, separate proposal for any other non-Autodesk software, hardware and services. The payment methods will be separated to reflect this.
Payment will be made directly to Autodesk and processed via your Autodesk Account Portal. Payment can be made via Credit card, PayPal or direct bank payment. You may need to set Autodesk up as a vendor in your business payment platform to accommodate this. See further instructions below:
For direct bank transfers, access the banking details via this Autodesk link:

If you are an existing Autodesk product user, you are the Autodesk Contract Manager for your business and already have an Autodesk Account. The new transaction model will simply leverage your existing account for managing your subscriptions. If you're a new user purchasing a subscription under the new model, you'll be prompted to create an Autodesk Account during the purchase process. This account will then be used for managing your subscription and future renewals.
The Autodesk Account Portal provides increased visibility into transaction history and self-service capabilities, including more control over upcoming renewals and new subscriptions. Customers selecting a three-year term will lock in the pricing at the time of purchase for the duration of the contract, but pay annually rather than in one lump sum, freeing up cashflow for their business.
Renewals to existing subscriptions expiring before 30 April 2024 will be processed by Cadpro under the current model by 28 February 2024. Any pending renewals expiring within 90 days of that date (28 February 2024 – 28 May 2024) can also be brought forward and renewed via the current process.
The payment for renewals will now be made to Autodesk. Cadpro will continue to assist you through the renewal process. While the financial transaction happens directly with Autodesk, as an Authorised Solutions Provider, we will help you navigate the different subscription plans and choose the one that best suits your needs. Additionally, Cadpro can continue to provide technical support, training and configuration assistance for your Autodesk products - contact us to learn more about our comprehensive services.
No. There are no additional or reduced fees associated with transacting directly with Autodesk.
Your current relationship with Cadpro will not change and our great team of people are here to help you with the transition. While payments go directly to Autodesk, solution providers remain involved in pre-sales and post-sales support, configuration of quotes, and overall customer experience. We will remain your primary contact for Autodesk product, support and services, continuing to provide proposals for new, additional and renewal subscriptions.
The way you transact on non-Autodesk products, including Bluebeam and HP hardware, is not affected. Cadpro will also continue to provide free licensing set-up and installation support for your software.
Cadpro services are not affected. Product support, consulting and training are available for purchase to enhance your knowledge and improve the functionality of your software products.
Not right now. Autodesk and Cadpro will be sending out more detailed communications about the new process and preparations in the lead-up to the new transaction model.
